Lehigh Valley Family Session at Trexler Nature Preserve

If you’ve never been to the Trexler Nature Preserve in Schnecksville, PA - you don’t know sun.

There is no sunset quite like the sunset over the hills at the preserve. If you didn’t know any better, you might buy that it’s on some European countryside. Beautiful rolling hills with tall, wispy grasses and sprawling fields that glow golden in the sunshine. It’s the perfect setting for a session, and one of my favorite places to let family’s roam.

This little fam joined me on a golden spring evening and I was able to capture them with such peace and calm. Moving slowly throughout the location, I was able to carefully watch for the moments of connection to unfold. It was great to be able to truly step back and observe - not pose or direct to the point where it no longer felt like them. With minor instructions, and the freedom to just BE - they quickly found a groove in exploring the hillside and allowing their sweet boys to play and roam freely.

Family sessions don’t have to be anything but yours. And I mean that. We don’t have to over pose and over stress. I’m so proud that all of these photos were achieved just watching a family play, just watching them move and connect, and without orchestrating every minor movement they made. And with some small directions, we were able to create a session that feels SO much like them. I know how fast those years fly by, and it makes me the happiest to be able to provide my families with something tangible that evokes emotion because of the realness of the moments, and not the “believability” of the poses.
