Minimalist Couples Session in the Studio : Nazareth, PA with Carolyn & Jordan

I love love. I always have.

And I love when we don’t have to overcomplicate things or make them something that they aren’t. We aren’t chasing a certain vibe or aesthetic - just being who and what we are, together.

It’s why a minimalist couples session just makes sense.

There’s nowhere to hide when sets are stripped down and the “visual interest” relies purely on connection. If the chemistry isn’t there, it’ll show. And so I love fostering that feeling of closeness in my sessions and making sure my couples never feel lost or unsure of what to do. I’ll ALWAYS give you direction and feedback so you feel assured that you’re doing the right things and the magic is being made.

And you can’t fake it, you just have to trust that I’m seeing it.

The studio is the perfect setting for a couples session!

The sets we’ve created are fully customizable, so you can use them at their most bare and basic (my fav!) or you can pull in different furniture and accessories to change the look and feel. For couples sessions in particular, I love to collaborate on a specific vibe and vision to make sure I fully understand the ways in which each couple feels seen. For Carolyn & Jordan, the vibe was minimal but fun - energetic but still quiet and soft. Using Jordan’s film camera was an ode to his photography hobby, and Carolyn brought simple white flowers to elevate a few moments on the white paper backdrop.

The ingredients were simple, but I found the results to be SO impactful. I saw tenderness and playfulness and goofiness and happiness. It was so many things in one perfectly simple session, and I think that’s a true testament to the power of less being more. Trusting your photographer to SEE rather than to create from what isn’t there.

These two have IT. The proverbial “it” that makes it something special. I hope to always find myself surrounded by couples that know what they have when they got it, and trust me to capture it exactly as it is. I loved working with these two and hope for many more studio sessions like these in the future!

Let that music play while you view!
